Finished Painting Chest of Drawers

Finished this up on Monday. Just now remembering to post you the pics.

Before w/spackle on flaked off veneer spots:



After:

I am happy with the way it turned out.

Next? The bed in this room. Here it is when it was in the sun room. The ends facing outward are the scruffed up veneer parts. Will try to get a before shot of that, before spackling. There's also a desk and book case in the spare bedroom above that I'd like to paint out the same - only I think that will have to wait for spring.

    Beautiful...of course, I'm a little biased. I have a chest of drawers that is nearly the same color and has the bowed out drawers. Great taste we have.

    Love the Maxfield Parish's Ectasy print. I have one just like it. Can I join the club of those with great taste?

    This chest belonged to my grandmother, who gave it to me when my kids were little as I had nowhere for their clothes in my then tee-tiny house.

    In case ya'll couldn't tell, the spare bedroom has now become the wine cellar since FrugalSon took over that room and the other larger one in the basement.

    Yes, we have good taste! Big Grin The bones were too good on this to just junk it, but I couldn't hijack my Frugalicious Gene off pucker to spend the dollars to have it's veneer replaced. The low gloss paint cost me $8 and some change.

    It was probably my Gran that had the good taste. The Ecstasy print was from her estate as well.

    I do think I'll miss the GLOW that the chest's wood finish gave off though.

    I was just noticing the wine and was going to ask about it! That chest of drawers is absolutely beautiful. I love vintage furniture like that.
