Lily White or Snow White?

August 24th, 2006 at 01:53 am

Okay, first question.

Why is it that under the space to my right that says 'Ads by Gooooogle' not even lily white but kind of ice blue white, where earlier today it was filled with the Categories and Blog controls? Did I do something wrong or is Google getting ready to add their ads??

Meet and Greet

August 23rd, 2006 at 07:50 pm

Okay so what do you do with a challenge?

You meet it.

Hi Challenge, nice to meet you.

I've been trying to read everyone's scope on the $20 Challenge. Everyone's seems a bit different and tailored for their own needs.

The decision I've made is to try to come up with an extra $20 or more a month to cut my mortgage principal. Well Hello Challenge!!

Now this is sad...

go ahead....

get a tissue. I'll wait...

Okay, I have exactly .34 cents in my wallet. No, really. Only 34 lincolns to jingle in my pocket. But that's where we're starting today the 23rd. Payday isn't until the first. Nine days from today.

Now I do need groceries, but there is money in the checking for that, but the wallet alas is a sad and lonely creature. Not to worry folks, there is a debit card in here as well, along with a coupon for a free party taco, so you know I'm not gonna starve.

This precious .34 is the beginning. Of course,I most likely won't get to $20 this month being that I'm starting so late, but we're going to mount an effort here!

I Am The Stranger

August 23rd, 2006 at 07:22 pm

This writing somewhat describes what it feels like to be an INFJ. I didn't write it, but Laura did. Excellent logical progression of what it feels like, especially when being mistaken for being extroverted!

"In any situation with new people, I go through several now-familiar phases:
I am the stranger, the outsider who is Not To Be Trusted.
I am harmless, pass for tame, and probably dull.
I am more interesting than previously thought.
I am *very* interesting.
I am beyond interesting; I am weird. But in a good way.
I am even weirder than first believed, but immensely loveable and lots of fun.
Surprise! My good nature has limits. The awesome eruption was short-lived, though, and the apology and making-up came quickly on its heels. I am still loveable, but assertive when cornered.
I am still weird, still loveable, and rapidly becoming a repository of secrets, confessions, and core-dumps despite being a goofy oddity. Was there ever a time I wasn't one of the gang? Will there ever be a time when I truly will be one of the gang?"- Laura

This is new territory for me, so here in this area I will probably be asking you guys to point to the answers to my questions!

Why Tinker With A Good Thing?

August 23rd, 2006 at 05:09 pm

I wanted to post the pics of my old truck and my new truck. Is it possible I'm in a rut?

OLD BESSIE #1:

NEW OLD BESSIE #2:

Not exactly the same - but close! Sweet is that like Ole Bessie #1 the new to me Old Bessie #2 is also paid for! The new truck pic was taken from the dealers online ad, so isn't representative of my picture taking abilities. I'm going to try to find the link to where I describe the saga of The Hubster selling the old one. I had to kiss my asset goodbye! Sob!

22 August 2006 - I'm Smiling Again!!

August 23rd, 2006 at 11:49 am

Yesterday was a No Spend day! NOBODY and I mean nobody got their hand in my pocket. Ahhhh...that's a thrilling refreshing feeling, isn't it??

I've been doing no spend days now for about 3 or 4 years before coming to SavingAdvice.com. Started right after reading "Your Money or Your Life" by Dominquez when I began to log my spending! Those days I didn't spend always got a happy smiley face drawn on them back when it was just with paper and pencil, so why not update it for the blog?
