Offline A Few Days
Just a note to let folks know I'll be off the boards for possibly a day or two as my brother is in the hospital w/a newly diagnosed heart condition. He's 54 and not married and so my sister and I are taking turns sitting with him as his patient advocate!! Which everyone needs when they're in hospital in my opinion. Anyway, please put us in your prayers. Thanks guys!

Having just been in the hospital last summer, I can definitely relate, and i really did feel like i needed an advocate who could assess things clearly and speak on my behalf. My mother and boyfriend didnt' actually ever need to do this, but just their frequent presence there made such a big difference. Very, very good of you to do that for him. I was only in the hospital for 4 days, but all the same, it is so dehumanzing, not to mention incredibly boring and depressing. If he has no special dietary restrictions, i bet he would really appreciate his favorite/home-cooked foods, or things from home to read maybe.
I hope it all goes well for him.
