Video interview w/Amy Dacyczyn of The Tightwad Gazette

December 29th, 2011 at 01:07 pm

Hey boys and girls - I just ran across this interview and enjoyed remembering how excited I was when I first ran across this woman and her writings. What a nice gift to get a glimpse of her in person and to see inside her lovely home...every time I tried to forget my way? She sparked my Frugalicious Gene (TM) back into action!!

Amy was my introduction into the happy, frugal life. In fact, she literally changed my life by helping me to change my outlook. I wish she were still publishing, but I respect her decision that she has said all she has to say.

Thank you for this! I've looked before for interviews with her and not found them. Her books changed my life for the better. After checking the 3 out from the library numerous times, I bought the big one.

Makes me want to dig out her book and read it all over again. I was so sad she didn't continue the newsletter; in fact, I think they had stopped it before I discovered her. I think, after so much practice, i could write my own Tightwad Gazette!

I actually did read this book again recently, for the third time I believe. I first read it shortly after it came out in the early 90's, and it helped me make the connection between my recreational shopping and the life energy it was consuming.
