Next On My Reading List *Attn: Ms. Goddard

January 13th, 2008 at 02:10 pm

Currently I'm re-reading** Ric Edelman's book, 'The Truth About Money', which I highly recommend.

Looks like he has a new edition out on this one.

But thanks to Jeffrey's heads up over on the forums next I'm putting this book on my reading list:

'Consumed: How Markets Corrupt Children, Infantilize Adults, and Swallow Citizens Whole', by Richard R. Barber.

*Attn. Ms. Paulette Goddard, this looks to be one you'd enjoy reading as well.

Excuse me, I've got to run over to my county library's website and put it on order to check out & then get ready for church. Don't you just love the cover art? Perfect!!

**also reading 'We Were the Mulvaneys' by Oates and 'The DHEA Breakthrough'.

You are a scary woman, luxsliving. I just returned my library copy of Consumed yesterday! It means well, but it needed editing -- Prof. Barber repeats himself, and his fact-checkers failed him more than once.

Thanks for mentioning Ric Elderman's book, I have it in my "stash", but never read it. I'll put it on my list to read soon!

    Love your blog :-)

I caught my spouse reading Consumed. I don't think you yourself are scary -- I thought more the timing of the book recommendation, immediately the same time I returned my copy to the library, was scary.
