I Have Been Influenced and Gone To Pot!

I've gone to pot! I've been listening to all this soup talk and when the temperature dropped this morning about 15 degrees in 5 minutes I knew it was time.

Time to drag out the soup pot.

Because some of the girls were looking for soup recipes, I decided I'd post this one that I made up as I went as it turned out really tasty. A well-stocked freezer and pantry is a wonderful thing!

peer pressure gets 'em every time! you know, soup is just a gateway meal. next you'll be making homemade pasta and cocoa mix.

Sounds yummy! Where are you getting those canned goods at such a good price, Lux? I haven't been able to find canned tomatos for less than .48! And canned squash, you can forget about it!

tinapbeana - I've been cooking for *mufflemum* years and long ago passed the homemade noodles and cocoa mix test. I used to own my own lunch-counter restaraunt. While I'm no chef - I am a good solid basic cook. But, keep up the peer pressure, I'm always up for a good idea or menu suggestion.

budgetmom - those prices are there because I buy in quantity when I find a good sale...AND I have a very well stocked pantry. Some of those prices are from a couple of years back. I do a lot of shopping at scratch and dent stores and Save-A-Lot, Big Lots and Aldi type stores. When I buy I bring it home and date the cans w/month/year (10/06) and the price per can/box - noting sale price or coupon savings. That way I can tell how much a recipe costs me most of the time.

Sounds yummy. I think I will make some on Saturday for my weekly lunches.
